Donate your voice for hunger!

February 27, 2012

Join Feeding America in our Donate Your Voice for Hunger campaign occurring through April 2012. Our goal is to raise awareness of those who struggle with hunger through a variety of initiatives over the course of the next few months, allowing us to give a social voice to the issue. We hope to reach 17.2 million people – the same number number of households that are food-insecure in the United States. One easy thing you can do to Donate Your Voice for Hunger is to watch and share our new Montage video. This video combines all of the Real Stories Public Service Announcements and features celebrities like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Aaron Eckhart. For other easy ways you can get involved and Donate Your Voice, check out this page.

The health of our clients is something we take deeply to heart, and one that we will encourage as we enter National Nutrition Month this Friday. During this month, we hope to educate and share information about the importance of quality of nutrition and the role it can play in fighting hunger. We’ll have useful tools you can share through our hunger and nutrition trivia, Real Hunger Stories, and ways for supporters to take action. Join us on Facebook, Twitter, and right here on the blog to learn how you can take an active part.

We hope to empower you to share your voice concerning nutrition and hunger through your own blogs. Become a lead supporter of the Donate Your Voice for Hunger campaign, and help Feeding America make a difference in the lives of those in need.

If the FLOTUS is continually harping on the fact that we as citizens are overwieght
or obese and you claim that 1 in 6 “struggle” with hunger and
under the current administration food stamps, snap, etc receipient #’s are thru the
roof, who are we to believe? One sixth of the current population is 52,183,706 persons. Explain.

Another excellent initiative to raise awareness about brethren who deal with hunger on a daily basis. Keep up the good work!

Hey, we welcome all responses. I urge you to read our MyPlate blog post, which goes into a bit of what is known as the hunger-obesity paradox. And stay tuned this month for a further look into how our country can struggle with an obesity epidemic while so many struggle with hunger.

Let food lessen the burden of hungry folks; show individuals care as they strive to live.
