Hunger Bowl Part 2: Boston College Players Volunteer

January 8, 2011

I was able to join the football players of Boston College Eagles as they volunteered at a feeding program in San Francisco.

The team is in town for the Kraft Foods Fight Hunger Bowl which will occur tomorrow evening. This is the only bowl game that is associated with a cause – which I think is great that Kraft chose hunger and Feeding America as their partner.

I went to St. Anthony Foundation early in the morning (Saturday). There were already people lined up outside the building waiting for lunch. I was able to speak to many staff members including Executive Director Shari Roeseler who told me that they have been seeing the number of people increase and that they can barely contain everyone in their cafeteria.

The Boston College players did a great job and really were able to help not only in the kitchen but with lifting the spirits of the guests.

They might want to spend more time wondering what went wrong v. Pete Carroll & Jeremy Bates in last year’s game
