Update your Facebook status and help fight hunger
September 2, 2010
It’s been a while since my last blog post, and I am happy to be back. What a great time of year to be able to contribute again – as this marks the second day of Hunger Action Month.
Hopefully you have been keeping up with our recent blog posts and have had a chance to read all about the vast activities happening across the country to support Hunger Action Month.
This month, I have pledged to update my Facebook status at least once a week with a hunger-related statistic. I hope that by doing this, my close network of friends and family will learn something new about hunger in America and get involved in their local community not only during this month but throughout the year.
My first status post yesterday was: “Today begins Hunger Action Month. Did you know that 49 million Americans in our country are facing hunger?”
In response, one friend of mine asked if she could re-post this update, which is the result I hoped would happen.
Participating in Hunger Action Month can be as easy as that. I challenge you to do the same if you have a Facebook account.
You can make a difference in the fight against hunger by spreading the word to your friends and family. Learn more.
