Single-day food drive collects record 77 million pounds

The day was a busy one for food banks and agencies across the country as they carried, loaded, delivered and sorted the food. Donations were collected by letter carriers as they delivered mail along their routes in over 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states.

Feeding America National Office Volunteer Day

June 14, 2010

Friday was a busy day in Chicago – the start of the Cubs and White Sox interleague series at Wrigley Field and the rally for the 2010 Stanley Cup champions, the Chicago Blackhawks. For the Feeding America national office, Friday was our annual volunteer day, where staff members scatter throughout the city and suburbs to volunteer at agencies that serve people in need.

USDA Purchasing $161.4 Million in Variety of Foods
