Child Hunger Ends Here Bloggers
April 20, 2010
Prior to the event on Wisteria Lane, I visited the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank with bloggers who were part of the ConAgra Foods Child Hunger Ends Here initiative.
I love going to food banks with people who have never been to one before. Seeing the mammouth operation of a food bank is inspiring. Millions of pounds of food go through those warehouses and on to people in need. A food bank is an impressive sight to see.
The interesting thing about this visit was that these bloggers did not just walk into the warehouse with jaws dropped; these bloggers seized the opportunity to get the word out about hunger. They pulled out cameras and flip video cameras. They were already writing blog entries in their heads as they saw how a food bank helps get food to people in need. They went into action.
It was great to see these bloggers want to tell their followers about hunger in America; they understand the power of awareness . At the end of the visit, they formed an assembly line and packed many backpacks full of food for children to take home on weekends.
Please visit these wonderful blogs. I was honored to meet the contributors and spend the day with them. (Also, thank you for all the wonderful support and advice you gave me as a new blogger.)

Great post, Dan. And it was wonderful to meet you as well! I learned so much and if I can share even a portion of all that I have taken in during this project, I will know I have helped do something!
