Get Involved

There are many ways you can help fight hunger. Though the primary purpose of the Feeding America blog is starting conversations and sharing information about domestic hunger, we know many of our readers will want to take action. Here are a few simple things you can do to help Americans in need:
1) Volunteer at your local food bank. Use the Feeding America Food Bank Locator to find the name and contact information of your nearest food bank. They will likely have a number of opportunities, from food sorting to helping with food distribution.
2) Make a financial contribution to Feeding America or your local food bank. Given the breadth and depth of our network, financial donations go much further than food donations. In fact, every dollar donated to the Feeding America network helps us to provide three meals to people in need. Learn more and donate.
3) Lend your voice. As strong as the Feeding America network is, people struggling with hunger will also always need robust government programs and policies to find food and hope. Visit the Hunger Action Center to learn more about advocating on behalf of Americans in need.
4) Tell your friends. At Feeding America, we’re inspiring a movement to fight domestic hunger. Sometimes, the most important thing an individual can do is simply tell their friends and family about the magnitude of our issue, and about our innovative approach to solving it. The Feeding America blog is a great place for newcomers and long-time hunger champions to learn more and join the cause.
How have you help fight hunger in America? Let us know by sending an email to blog@feedingamerica.org or by leaving a comment below.

You’ll need to contact the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to set up a food drive for your students.

I would like to talk to you about the idea of raising funds through entertainment…I have a foundation also…http://www.ranchersandfarmers.org…We raise dollars to help Family ranchers and farmers in need after natural disasters…Why can’t we work together for the same causes? If it wasn’t for the family ranch and farm nobody would be eating…Drop me a line and let me know what you think…Blessed Trails,TJ Casey

Hi TJ –
The listed states here are just our food banks that have blogs. We have two food banks in Montana and you can find their contact information here: http://feedingamerica.org/foodbank-results.aspx?state=MT
